Datenschutzerklärung

This site is run by the Paleka family, owners and hosts of Vila Paleka in Žerava, Croatia. You can reach us at info@vilapaleka.com.

The contact form on this site sends your inquiry to us directly: when you press "Send inquiry," your browser submits it to a small server we run, which forwards it straight to our own inbox (info@vilapaleka.com) with your address set as the reply-to, so we can just hit reply. We don't store form submissions anywhere beyond that email -- there's no database, and we don't use the information for anything other than answering you. To stop spam bots from flooding that inbox, the form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that runs automatically in the background (no puzzles to solve). It briefly shares standard technical details of your visit -- like your IP address -- with Cloudflare to make that judgment; see Cloudflare's own privacy policy for how they handle it. If sending fails for any reason, the form falls back to opening your own email app with the message pre-filled, the same way it used to work -- in that case the message goes from your device to your own outgoing email, and we only see it once you actually send it yourself.

This site sets one cookie: a first-party preference cookie that remembers whether you chose the English or German version, so you don't have to pick again on your next visit. It doesn't identify you and isn't used for tracking or advertising. If we ever add visitor analytics, it will be a privacy-focused, cookie-free option — this page will be updated first if that changes.

The contact page embeds a map from OpenStreetMap so you can see where the villa is. Loading that map means your browser makes a request directly to openstreetmap.org, which — like any website — may log standard technical information such as your IP address. That request is between your browser and OpenStreetMap; we don't receive or see it.

If you'd like to know what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, just email us at info@vilapaleka.com and we'll sort it out directly — there's no automated system to navigate. If you're in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
